US console business revenues fell 26 per cent last month, from $1.03 billion in April 2009 to $766.2 million, according to data from the NPD Group.

Hardware sales were down 37 per cent to 249.3 million, while software sales dropped 22 per cent to $398.5 million. The accessories market declined by nine per cent to $188.4 million.

Year-to-date industry sales stand at $4.73 billion, down 11 per cent compared to the same time last year.
